Today is the day. It’s almost time for the new OnePlus phones to show up and steal the show in the smartphone market. Their two phones per year strategy have treated them well since its implementation.
What to expect?
The OnePlus 7 is expected to be an iterative update to the OnePlus 6T, with a Snapdragon 855 processor, an upgraded 48 MP primary sensor paired with a 20 MP secondary sensor and 16 MP front shooter. It will come with a 6.2 inch full HD+ AMOLED display like the previous versions. It will also have Gorilla Glass 6 as compared to Gorilla Glass 5 that we had on the 6T. What’s also upgraded is the battery capacity as OnePlus 7 is rumoured to pack in a 4150 mAh battery.
And there are some rumours about 30W fast charging coming as standard even with the less expensive OnePlus 7. Stereo speakers are also likely to be present. Regarding pricing, it is expected to be priced the same as the 6T or maybe even lower than that. If OnePlus delivers on the pricing department, then this phone will an absolute steal for the price.
Now for the OnePlus 7 Pro version. OnePlus is trying something new with a Pro model this year. It will come with bumped up specs like a 6.67 inch Ouad HD+ bezel-less display, a 32 MP pop-up selfie camera, upto 12 GB RAM options, a 4000 mAh battery, a triple camera setup on the back which includes the 48 MP sensor jammed in with a 16 MP telephoto + 8 MP ultrawide sensor. OnePlus has never done an ultrawide sensor before, so that will be something to lookout for. Best of all upgrades is the rumoured 90 Hz display the OnePlus 7 Pro is likely to come with. That will be sweet. It is probably going to start at 49,999, which does sound a lot for a brand that claims to be the ‘Flagship Killer’.
